The Process

starting

We start each project by understanding the project requirements - what is your concept, what you are trying to achieve, when do you need it by, and what is your budget.
art & art charges
We work with vector art images in PC platform. We prefer Illustrator CS5 or similar. As we proceed to develop the art and make it production-ready, one-time art & proofing charges are incurred . These charges are quoted before the project begins so you always know what they will be and are not incurred on re-orders.
mockup
To save time and money, we produce an electronic mockup of your project and review it with you as a PDF or JPEG. This helps brings the concept into focus and lets us know that we understand exactly what you are trying to achieve. In the mockup phase, we are not so worried about color matching...that will come later. This is more about getting the concept correct and the placement on the ceramic piece in the right size and proportionality. It is not unusual to do several mockups before achieving the final design concept.
fired sample
Once we are sure we have the final artwork & concept agreed upon, we often elect to make a fired sample for you to approve. This is where we work to insure that the colors are as you want them to be. We use Pantone #’s as our general reference, so it is helpful if you give us the Pantone color number(s) you are seeking in your design. If you are unsure of the exact color number, we can help with that. Once you have approved the fired sample, then production on your project can be scheduled.
quality assurance
Our experienced team of professionals monitor and inspect your project all throughout the process to insure that you get exactly what you ordered.
timing and quantities
From the time of your final approval until your project is ready to ship is usually 45 days. Keep this in mind when the item is to be used in conjunction with an event or a specific date. Letting us know your target date very early in the process usually is a big help in setting the overall project timeline. We ship 10% over/under the ordered quantity of 1st quality goods as is normal with custom decorations.
